SUMMARY:E.M.B.A.R.C. Youth Farm - Mushroom Log Class
DESCRIPTION:In this workshop\, learn about mycology and the process of inoculating Shiitake mushroom logs. Mushroom logs will become an abundant food source in less than one year and can be expected to fruit for several years. This workshop is a partnership between the EMBARC Youth Farm and The Mushroom Club of Georgia. \nChildren over 10 are welcome to participate but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Each individual will make two inoculated shiitake logs with two strains of shiitake using two different kinds of inoculation processes. \nParticipants are required to pay $10.00 – please bring cash. \nIn case of inclement weather\, the backup date for this class is March 16th. We will inform you via email if there are any changes to the date. \nThis class is held outdoors. Participants need to be prepared for seasonal weather elements. Coffee\, tea\, and hot chocolate will be provided.
