PRESS RELEASE: Point of Clarity – Judge Gregory A. Adams is not a Candidate for County Commissioner

Judge Gregory A. Adams is not a candidate for the DeKalb County Commission District Seven position and is not related by blood or marriage to any candidate for that position.

Judge Adams was initially elected to the bench in 2004 and re-elected in 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020 without opposition.

Judge Adams is a graduate of Georgia State University and the School of Law at the University of Georgia.

Prior to Judge Adams’ election to the Superior Court, he served as the Chief Judge of the Juvenile Court for ten years. On April 10, 2007, the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to name the new $45 million juvenile court the “Gregory A. Adams Juvenile Justice Center,” thereby making Judge Adams the first judge to have a building named in his honor in the history of DeKalb County, which was founded in 1822.

For the record, Judge Gregory A. Adams is not seeking a position of County Commissioner for DeKalb County.
