DECATUR – DeKalb County Clerk of Superior Court Debra DeBerry will host Adoption Day in DeKalb on Friday, November 17, 2023, as part of National Adoption Month. The DeKalb Adoption Day Ceremony finalizing forever family adoptions will be in person at 556 North McDonough Street, Decatur, Georgia 30030, Judicial Tower in Court Room 5D beginning at 12:00 p.m. EST.
November is recognized as National Adoption Month. The purpose of National Adoption Month is a collective effort to raise awareness of children waiting to be adopted from foster care in the United States. National Adoption Day is Saturday, November 18, 2023.
Judge Gregory A. Adams (inception judge), Judge Tangela Barrie, Judge Shondeana Morris, Judge Yolanda Parker-Smith, and Judge Brian E. Lake will be hearing the adoptions. The Guest Speaker will be Willie Hamilton, Esq., this year’s recipient of Congressman Hank Johnson’s Angels of Adoption Program.
