The three candidates running to represent DeKalb County Commission District 6 will participate in a virtual forum Wednesday night.
The forum, organized by the Metro South Community Improvement District, is scheduled to run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Residents can watch the event on Zoom or on the CID’s Facebook page.
Maryam Ahmad, Emily Halevy and Ted Terry are all running to replace current District 6 Commissioner Kathie Gannon, who is not seeking reelection.
Ahmad (a public health data analyst and community activist), Halevy (a digital media executive and smart development advocate) and Terry (the former mayor of Clarkston) are all Democrats. No Republicans qualified to run for the seat, which represents the western half of DeKalb County.
That means the winner of June’s Democratic primary will become a commissioner.
Wednesday night’s forum will be moderated by Tharon Johnson, a Democratic consultant and strategist.
