A new Lidl grocery store is opening in DeKalb County next week.
The German supermarket chain will hold a ribbon-cutting at its new North Druid Hills location on Wednesday, July 8, officials announced. Lidl is known for offering a wide range of discounted groceries and produce.
“We are very excited to have this new grocery store to serve this community with the high quality and low prices which people around the world have come to expect,” Brookhaven Mayor John Ernst said in a statement. “Lidl will be an asset to Brookhaven.”
The store will be located at 2480 Briarcliff Road in the Brighten Park shopping center, just south of I-85 and north of North Druid Hills Road.
Lidl — it rhymes with “needle” — is based in Germany and has more than 10,500 stores in 29 countries. The Brookhaven location will be its eighth market in Georgia, and the fourth Lidl store to open in metro Atlanta in the last several months. The company recently got approval to open future locations in Marietta and on Memorial Drive near south DeKalb.
The Brookhaven store will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week. The ribbon-cutting is scheduled for 7:40 a.m. on July 8.
