DeKalb Watershed Management Announces Art Calendar Contest Winners

DECATUR, Ga. — For the past 16 years, DeKalb Watershed Management has sponsored the Art Calendar Contest. The contest aims to promote awareness of the importance of water for a healthy way of life and sustainable future. This year’s theme is “How Can Water Keep Us Safe.â€

All DeKalb County elementary students in public, private, parochial and home schools were invited to participate. Students between four and 11 years old, and from 15 schools submitted artwork; and 12 winners were selected. The winning drawings hail from Fernbank, Henderson Mill, Idlewood, Stoneview and Vanderlyn Elementary and a home school.

The calendar cover winner is Damaris Molina-Perez of Stoneview Elementary and the monthly winners are: Vikramjit Chowdhury; Prisha Garg; Lance Ignacio; Lisa, Karen and Sarah Jin; Maddox Ludwig; Mihir and Nikhil Muktinutalapati; Karis Taddese; and Arthur Wang. All 12 students were recognized at the Jan. 26, 2021, Board of Commissioners meeting by way of a DCTV video presentation.
