DeKalb Commissioner Robert Patrick to Hold Virtual COVID-19 Vaccine Town Hall for Spanish Speakers

DECATUR, Ga.–Residents in DeKalb County continue to experience a rise in COVID-19 cases. In District 1, there are underserved communities that need resources and information that allows them to make informed decisions for themselves and their families.

Commissioner Robert Patrick (District 1) has partnered with Kaiser Permanente to provide a virtual Town hall question-and-answer session on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event will be fully broadcast in Spanish.

This town hall is free of charge and registration is not required. To attend, log on to Commissioner Patrick’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/commissionerpatrickD1. Participants are encouraged to submit questions and or concerns to [email protected] ahead of Wednesday’s virtual event.

Dr. Felipe Lobelo, senior physician in epidemiology, will join Commissioner Patrick to address concerns surrounding the vaccine, dispel myths about the vaccine and provide answers to many frequent questions.

According to recent data received within the last 24 hours from the DeKalb Department of Public Health, District 1 has a 5-plus percent increase in COVID-19 cases in zip codes that include Spanish speaking communities.

Commissioner Patrick has also partnered with the DeKalb County Public Health department to allocate dedicated vaccination appointments for those in attendance at Wednesday’s virtual town hall. More information about this process will be outlined during the live Facebook event.
