Blackwater Construction is holding a public meeting this week to discuss a proposal to renovate a gas station at the corner of LaVista Road and Parklake Drive. Located near Northlake Mall, the Shell gas station at 4118 LaVista Road shares the lot with Castrol Premium Lube Express and a carwash.

A memo on Tucker’s website states renovations to the property include removing the carwash, and adding a new fuel canopy and convenience store to the gas station. The Castrol building will remain. A “much-needed upgrade in appearance and function” will provide amenities and curb appeal.

The project requires a Special Land Use Permit (SLUP) to be granted by the city of Tucker.

The virtual meeting is scheduled for Oct. 7 at 2 p.m., and can be accessed here: Microsoft Teams or 813-397-8147, conference ID 829287655#.

City of Tucker meetings are in person and virtual. Zoning Board of Appeals meets on Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. and Tucker Planning Commission meets on Oct. 21. More information about city meetings can be found here.
