City of Clarkston Hosts Career Expo
(Clarkston, GA) Mayor Beverly H. Burks and the City of Clarkston, in collaboration with Worksource DeKalb, are excited to announce a “Back to Basics…Engage, Empower, Employ Career & Resource Expo.” Over 30 businesses that are hiring are expected to be present, including MARTA, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA), UPS, FedEx, and Grady.
Georgia State University and Georgia Piedmont Technical College are Education Partners. Friends of Refugees will provide tips on resumes as the resume and career partner. Email [email protected] to schedule an appointment with a career counselor.
IRC and Core will also provide first shot COVID-19 vaccines at the Career Expo. In addition, residents of 30021 zip code will receive $50 gift cards for local businesses.
“As a result of COVID-19, many residents were layoff or furloughed over the past year and a half. Our goal is to provide quality career opportunities for Clarkston and DeKalb County residents that connect unemployed workers with employers that are hiring and allow people to receive a livable wage,” said Mayor Beverly H. Burks.
Please come out to the Clarkston Community Center, 3701 College Ave., Clarkston, GA on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, from 10 am to 2 pm. Masks are required for all Job Seekers attending the Career Expo.
