Final Tally:
Approximately 2,000 Receive COVID-19 Vaccinations during DeKalb County Event

DECATUR, Ga.—Today, Dec. 4, DeKalb County, in partnership with the DeKalb County Board of Health, administered an estimated 2,000 COVID-19 vaccinations.


Approximately 2,000 receive COVID-19 vaccinations during a DeKalb event Saturday.

“We are overwhelmed by the turnout for this COVID-19 vaccination event where more people have taken action to protect themselves, their families and community,” DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond said.

To date, DeKalb County has vaccinated more than 8,000 people during its large vaccination events.

From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., DeKalb County Board of Health and DeKalb County Fire Rescue administered voluntary COVID-19 vaccinations to anyone 12 years of age and older at the old K-Mart located at 5597 Buford Hwy. NE, Doraville GA 30340.

All persons receiving a vaccination also received a $100 prepaid debit card.
