Debra DeBerry, Clerk of Superior Court to Increase Capacity for In-Person Clerk of Superior Court Services
DECATUR, GA – Clerk Debra DeBerry will begin increasing the number of citizens who have access to in-person services in the Clerk of Superior Court’s Office beginning Monday, May 10, 2021 from 8:30AM – 5:00PM. Clerk DeBerry encourages citizens to continue utilizing online services when possible to keep the community and her staff safe as we continue to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Temporary Protective Orders (TPO) will remain a virtual process for now. Citizens needing a TPO should first contact the Women’s Resource Center at 404-370-7670 between 10:00AM – 2:00PM or their 24hour crisis hotline at 404-688-9436 or visit www.wrcdv.org.
Since March 23, 2020, the DeKalb County Clerk of Superior Court’s Office, as part of the Courthouse COVID-19 Task Force Chaired by Chief Judge Asha Jackson, along with all justice partners, has continued to fulfill constitutional mandates in a primarily virtual environment. Thirteen Judicial Emergency Orders later, Clerk DeBerry commends her staff for overcoming challenges as well as personal loss during this time to maintain a fully functioning Clerk’s office.
Clerk DeBerry noted that the DeKalb County Courthouse air filtration system has been replaced and she has installed portable air filters throughout her office as a precaution. Plexiglass dividers will add an additional barrier of safety between employees and citizens. Daily sanitizing will continue.
Visitors to the courthouse will be required to wear a mask, have their temperature taken and follow CDC and Department of Health guidelines by maintaining 6 feet of distance from other visitors. Please do not visit the courthouse if you feel sick or have a temperature. Citizens are reminded to allow more time to complete their service and exercise patience when visiting the DeKalb County Courthouse.
