DEKALB COUNTY MAGISTRATE COURT ADDS FIVE NEW JUDGES
DECATUR, GA– DeKalb Chief Magistrate Berryl A. Anderson recently appointed five new judges to the bench. These attorneys will serve in part-time judicial positions, handling a wide variety of civil, ordinance, criminal and protective order matters, serving the public 365 days a year in this busy court, known as “the people’s court.” Each one of these newly appointed judges brings to the court the depth of experience and knowledge necessary to ensure justice for the citizens of DeKalb County.

Judge Mirna Andrews has served as a DeKalb County Assistant District Attorney for 12 years.
For 16 years, Judge Elizabeth Guerrant has worked as a Supervising Attorney for Atlanta Legal Aid Society.
In his career, Judge Tom Kemp has spent a combined total of 20 years as a DeKalb County prosecutor.
As a collection attorney in private practice, Judge Tamara Williams has more than 11 years of experience.
Judge Teri Thompson has devoted more than 23 years as a criminal defense attorney.
Chief Magistrate Anderson adds that “this unprecedented addition of five new judges will further assist the court in continuing to reduce the backlog of cases accumulated during the pandemic.”
