DeKalb County Partners with Trees Atlanta for Front Yard Tree Program
DECATUR, Ga. – Through partnership with DeKalb County, Trees Atlanta’s Front Yard Tree program, known as ReLeaf DeKalb, is available to residential owners in unincorporated DeKalb County. Eligible residents are afforded the opportunity to have trees professionally planted in their front yard by Trees Atlanta. Requests can be submitted here.
DeKalb County recently began its second year of ReLeaf DeKalb. ReLeaf DeKalb II encompasses two components: Residential Front Yards and Public Properties. Planting trees increases DeKalb’s tree canopy and enhances ecosystem benefits.
Public property tree plantings are great community activities and a good way to acquire community service hours. The following are scheduled public property tree planting events. Please click the links below to register:
- North Hairston Rd: Saturday, January 21 – 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
- Memorial Dr: Saturday, February 4 – 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
- Wade Walker Park for Tu B’Shvat: Sunday, February 05 – 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
