The DeKalb County Police Athletic League (PAL) Unit has is hosting an “After Dark Basketball Summer League” Program to bridge the gap between the youth of DeKalb County and the DeKalb County Police Department through sports, a press release said.
Over the course of the summer, a diverse group of professionals will come to the “After Dark Basketball Summer League” to share words of wisdom about their life experiences with the participants during the mandatory life skill workshops that will take place before each night’s games being played.
This program offers a way to strengthen and enhance relationships with young people in our community while also providing mentorship and guidance in a safe environment.
DeKalb County Police invite all youth ages 15 – 20 years to come out every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 p.m. – 12:30 a.m. at the YMCA at 2565 Snapfinger Road, Decatur, Ga. 30034. Tournaments will be played on the final week of July 25, 2020.
