DeKalb County residents can limit their time waiting in line for a new vehicle tag or title renewal because of a county initiative.

Tax Commissioner Irvin J. Johnson recently launched the “Click2Skip” online system, which allows residents to select a designated appointment time and avoid lengthy lines, according to a news release. Appointments can be scheduled at the central office off Memorial Drive and the office’s two satellite locations.

“On average, people spend about two minutes making their appointments on our website, which ends up saving them wait time,” Johnson said in the release.

The program launched Oct. 12 at the Memorial Drive location and expanded to the other two offices earlier in November. Appointments can be scheduled at dekalbtax.org or by calling the desired office location. Masks and temperature checks are required for entry into any of the offices.

Here are the locations for the three offices:

• Central Office, 4380 Memorial Drive, Ste. 100, Decatur
• South Office, 2801 Candler Road, Ste. 66, Decatur
• North Office, 1358 Dresden Drive, Brookhaven

Many government motor vehicle services, including tag applications and registration renewals, are also offered online. Those services can be accessed at eservices.drives.ga.gov.

Residents are also reminded that they will need a valid Georgia driver’s license or ID for all transactions. The Tax Commissioner’s Office accepts cash, personal checks, money orders and credit and debit cards (with an additional fee).
