Fire Station No. 7 is the first building project funded by SPLOST

What:     County officials are hosting a virtual groundbreaking ceremony for DeKalb’s new Fire Station No. 7 building.

This new, two-story, 15,000-square-foot, three-bay facility will include a community and exercise room, as well as hot and cold zones with separate cleanout gear and laundry areas positioned to help alleviate cross contamination of carcinogens with sleeping and dining areas. The beautifully landscaped exterior will include a retention pond, sidewalks, and lighted parking lot.

Fire Station No. 7 is the first of several new fire stations to be built countywide using Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) funds.  

DeKalb County will receive an estimated $388 million in SPLOST revenue over a six-year period to improve county roads, infrastructure, libraries, parks, and public safety. For more information about DeKalb County SPLOST, visit www.dekalbsplost.com.
