Youth Crime Prevention

  • Administration for Children and Families Announces Grant Funding for the Relationships, Education, Advancement, and Development for Youth for Life Initiative (Applications due July 1st, 2020)

On June 1st, the Administration for Children and Families announced the availability of grant funding for the Relationships, Education, Advancement, and Development for Youth for Life (READY4Life) Initiative. Grant funding provided under this notice is meant to support “healthy marriage promotion” activities, including relationship education, parenting, and job and career advancement activities. The READY4Life grans will be exclusively awarded to youth, for projects designed to support healthy relationships and marriage, including the value of marriage in future family formation and skills-based healthy relationship and marriage education. Additionally, grants will support activities including parenting (for young fathers and mothers, as applicable), financial management, job and career advancement, and other activities. Projects must be targeted to youth, specified as individuals in high school (grades 9-12), or that are high-school aged or in late adolescence and early adulthood (ages 14 to 24). County governments are eligible to apply for this grant opportunity. Applications are due by July 1st, 2020.

On May 6th, the National Endowment for the Arts announced the availability of Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 funding for the Our Town creative placemaking grants program. This program provides funding to promote enactment of projects which integrate arts, culture and design activities to strengthen economic, physical and social community outcomes. Eligible products will feature a local government entity and a non-profit organization. County governments are eligible to apply for this program. Applications for this grant opportunity are due by August 6th, 2020.

  • Department of Homeland Security Announces FY 2020 Funding for the Regional Catastrophic Preparedness Grant Program (Applications due July 15th, 2020)

On May 20th, the Department of Homeland Security announced the availability of FY 2020 funding for the Regional Catastrophic Preparedness Grant Program (RCPGP). The purpose of the RCPGP is to build regional capacity to manage catastrophic incidents by improving and expanding collaboration for catastrophic incident preparedness. Funding provided  under this notice is provided to: close known capability gaps in Housing and Logistics and Supply Chain Management core capabilities; encourage innovative regional solutions to issues related to catastrophic incidents; and build on existing regional preparedness efforts. This notice provides funding to local government units located in the Department’s Region 4 (Georgia is located in Region 4). County governments are eligible to apply for this grant opportunity. Applications for this grant opportunity are due by July 15th, 2020.

  • Administration for Children and Families Announces Grant Funding for the Fatherhood Family-focused, Interconnected, Resilient, and Essential Initiative (Applications due July 1st,, 2020)

On June 1st, the Administration for Children and Families announced the availability of grant funding for the Fatherhood Family-focused, Interconnected, Resilient, and Essential (Fatherhood FIRE) Initiative. The purpose of this initiative is to provide federal grant funding to support programs and activities that promote responsible fatherhood. Programs that provide services in the following categories are eligible to receive funding; promoting or sustaining marriages, responsible parenting, and economic stability activities. Eligible programs must serve Fathers (age 18 or older) with children (age 24 or younger) to receive federal funding advertised under this notice. County governments are eligible to apply for this grant opportunity.  Applications are due by July 1st, 2020
