Tainan, Taiwan is a city located on the west coast of the island and is one of Taiwan’s oldest cities. Spanning 840 square miles and home to 1.85 million people, the city is of great cultural and economic significance.

In September of 2022, Mayor Geierman sent a Doraville 150th anniversary coin to the Mayor of Tainan to acknowledge the connections between the two cities and share a message of friendship. In appreciation of Mayor Geierman’s gesture, Mayor Huang of Tainan sent the City of Doraville a letter and gifts.

To honor the generosity of Mayor Huang, the City of Doraville has issued a proclamation to acknowledge the gifts and initiate exploration into opportunities to exchange and cultivate links the areas of culture, tourism, and trade and investment.

The proclamation was issued to Consular Officer, Billy Chung, who welcomed the honor and opportunity. He remarked that Doraville was truly living up to it’s visionary reputation by reaching out to Tainan. He looks forward to strengthening not only our people to people connections but growing our business and innovation ties as well.
