ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Police are investigating a deadly shooting near a DeKalb County sports bar Saturday morning.
Near 3:45 a.m., officers were called to DaBomb Sports Grill off Evans Mill Road in Lithonia. They found a 34-year-old dead in a nearby parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds and arrested 38-year-old Henry Anderson in connection to the crime, according to DeKalb County police.
Anderson was taken to DeKalb County Jail. He faces charges of malice murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He also had an outstanding arrest warrant out of Gwinnett County for allegedly escaping from law enforcement, police said.
The sports bar’s owner told Atlanta News First that the shooting happened in an area with some trees in front of his business, which is also behind a nearby Citgo gas station. He said two men came to DaBomb Sports Grill to use its bathroom after another restaurant turned them away.
DaBomb Sports Grill’s security guard said the pair had to pay to come inside, according to the owner. The men left to relieve themselves behind the gas station, but what appeared to be a homeless person shot one of them, the owner said. He claimed his cameras caught the incident.
