City of Stonecrest officials said they will distribute food Nov. 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 2994 Turner Hill Road in Stonecrest.
The distribution will take place in the parking lot of the old Sam’s Club—the site of the future Stonecrest city hall. Visitors are asked to stay in their cars throughout the process to comply with COVID-19 guidelines, according to city officials.
“COVID-19 has made this a challenging year, with many families struggling to keep food on the table. To assist, Stonecrest Cares is hosting a free meals giveaway,” Stonecrest officials stated. “This is a drive-thru event where residents will remain in their vehicle while receiving their food box. We will distribute one box per vehicle.”
Items distributed will include 10-pound boxes containing pre-packaged meats, fruits, vegetables, dairy products and other food products.
In addition to the food distribution, Stonecrest officials said healthcare workers will be onsite for free COVID-19 testing.
Stonecrest officials stated the distribution will last until 4 p.m. or whenever they run out of food.
