YCC YOUTHBUILD II LAUNCHES THIS FALL
Training and Developing Our Youth For A Second Chance
DECATUR, GA – November, 2021 – DeKalb County Juvenile Court (DCJC) is proud to announce the launch of the second cycle of the Youth Creating Change (YCC) YouthBuild program funded by the U.S. Department of Labor – Employment and Training Administration. This cycle will be known as YouthBuild II.
YCC YouthBuild is a grant funded, alternative education program for individuals between the ages of 16 and 24 that provides access to secondary and post-secondary education, skills training, certifications, and high-demand job placement.
DeKalb County’s YouthBuild II program has partnered with Construction Education Foundation of Georgia (CEFGA), Goodwill of North Georgia (GNG), American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) and Life Solutions for Health to provide industry-recognized credentialing opportunities in construction, welding, healthcare, hospitality, supply chain logistics and environmental services.
YouthBuild II has expanded its reach throughout the DeKalb community to include residents in Clarkston – 30021; Scottdale – 30079; Decatur – 30030, 30032, 30034, 30035; Stone Mountain – 30083, 30084, 30088; Lithonia – 30038, 30058; Atlanta – 30316, 30317.
Youth between the ages of 16 and 24 who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply: Unemployed; Out-of-School; Parent; Migrant; Exiting Foster Care; Incarcerated Parents; Low-Income; Documented Disability; and Previous/Current Involvement with the Justice System.
